Stay at the iconic Eastwood House:
A New Chapter for Newtyle

December 2024

Starting in 2025, the iconic Eastwood House becomes part of the Newtyle Fishings experience. Built in 1830, this historic house sits on the banks of the River Tay, offering the unique opportunity to stay just steps from the water and fish right from the garden. Conveniently located at the upper end of the Newtyle Beat, Eastwood House is only a short walk from the charming town of Dunkeld.

A day to remember on the Newtyle

August 2024

Four new salmon anglers celebrated their first-ever catches today. Amelia Takken from Australia kicked things off with a cracking fish from the Boil. Oscar Jowitt followed with a clean grilse from the Steps before lunch. In the afternoon, Patrick Langford landed his first in the Plaintree Pool, and Ed Langford wrapped up the day with a stunning 7lb silver from the Alders. What a fantastic day on the water!

After a dry summer

Despite fishing under these conditions Lars Erik Svendsen took a nice salmon in the end of September on the fly from the Cotter pool.

Three salmon caught in one hour

April 2022

Regular guest Jon Amos was fishing the Newtyle beat on April 12th. Casting from the boat at the Alders Pool he took three fresh salmon on the fly in less than an hour. The salmon where laying close to the three big stones in the pool. Often salmon are resting here after having passed the heavy current of the Island Stream. The pool/stones can be covered both from the bank and by the boat.
